                         estimativa da insola{\c{c}}{\~a}o, baseados no uso de 
                         pireli{\^o}metro, imagens de sat{\'e}lite, e registros 
                         heliogr{\'a}ficos, no per{\'{\i}}odo 2007- 2008. Os dados das 
                         componentes da radia{\c{c}}{\~a}o solar e insola{\c{c}}{\~a}o 
                         foram obtidos de s{\'{\i}}tios experimentais em Petrolina, Natal 
                         e {\'A}gua Branca (redes solarim{\'e}tricas SONDA e INMET). As 
                         estimativas de sat{\'e}lite foram fornecidas pela DSA/CPTEC/INPE. 
                         A insola{\c{c}}{\~a}o avaliada por pireli{\^o}metro segundo 
                         crit{\'e}rio recomendado pela WMO mostra boa acur{\'a}cia em 
                         rela{\c{c}}{\~a}o {\`a}s medidas heliogr{\'a}ficas. As 
                         estimativas por sat{\'e}lite mostram bom ajuste linear com o 
                         valor efetivo (baseado em dados pireliom{\'e}tricos efetivos). Os 
                         desvios m{\'e}dios associados s{\~a}o da ordem de ±1%. A 
                         estimativa por sat{\'e}lite e a efetiva exibem diferen{\c{c}}a 
                         significativa com os dados heliogr{\'a}ficos. Entretanto, esta 
                         diferen{\c{c}}a pode ser corrigida por meio de uma 
                         fun{\c{c}}{\~a}o quadr{\'a}tica. ABSTRACT: The present study 
                         compares a set of four different estimation methods for sunshine 
                         duration, based on the use of pyrheliometric and heliographic 
                         records and of satellite imagery, during 2007-2008. Data of solar 
                         radiation components and sunshine duration for Petrolina, Natal 
                         and {\'A}gua Branca were obtained from SONDA and INMET networks. 
                         The satellite-based estimates for sunshine duration were provided 
                         by DSA/CPTEC/INPE. Sunshine duration assessed by pyrheliometer 
                         (WMO recommendation) shows good performance when compared with 
                         heliographic observations. Satellite-based estimates show good 
                         linear fit to effective sunshine (assessed using effective 
                         pyrheliometric data). Associated mean deviation is ± 1%. Sunshine 
                         duration assessed from satellite imagery as well as effective 
                         value show significant difference with heliographic data, which 
                         nevertheless can be corrected by a quadratic fitting expression.",
